Hip Hop Speaks in-class programs are firmly grounded in state academic standards. kaPow! strives to enable young people to understand media, think for themselves, express their ideas creatively use problem-based learning to address a community problem, share their new knowledge and skills with the community

Hip Hop Speaks after school programs are designed to facilitate the exploration and creation of m.e.d.i.a.™ m.e.d.i.a.™ is Hip Hop Speaks unique design concept which underscores each Hip Hop Speaks after school program and ensures that students are engaged in media explorations and discoveries in the arts.

By exploring multiple perspectives on hip-hop, using world renown DJs, musicians, film and video producers, and a broad range of Philadelphian artist teachers, “hip-hop don’t stop” engages young people in learning both the front and back-ends of the music and film industries, as well as a wealth of opportunities in the visual and performance arts.
